Tori & Max’s West Point Wedding | Cadet Chapel Ceremony and Thayer Hotel Reception
Tori and Max celebrated their beautiful West Point wedding on a crisp March day at the historic U.S. Military Academy at West Point in New York. With meaningful ties to the academy and breathtaking Hudson River views, their wedding felt deeply personal from start to finish.
Max is a graduate of West Point, so returning to the academy to celebrate their marriage carried special meaning for both of them. West Point’s historic setting and timeless architecture created the perfect backdrop for a wedding that honored tradition while still reflecting the couple’s playful personality.
Getting Ready at The Thayer Hotel
The day began at the iconic Thayer Hotel, located on the grounds of the United States Military Academy. Tori and Max chose to get ready separately at the hotel so they could share a private first look at Trophy Point, one of West Point’s most scenic overlooks. The overcast March sky created a soft, romantic atmosphere as the couple saw each other for the first time overlooking the Hudson River Valley.
Ceremony at the West Point Cadet Chapel
Following their first look, guests gathered at the stunning West Point Cadet Chapel for the ceremony. The chapel’s dramatic Gothic architecture, soaring arches, and beautiful stained glass create an unforgettable setting for weddings.
As Tori walked down the aisle, the historic chapel filled with emotion and anticipation. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by family, friends, and the timeless beauty of the chapel’s stone and marble interior. When they said “I do,” the powerful sound of the organ filled the space while their guests erupted into cheers. After the ceremony, guests gathered outside the chapel for photographs. The surrounding campus views and classic West Point architecture made every moment feel cinematic.
A Tiki-Inspired Reception at The Thayer Hotel
Guests were then transported back to The Thayer Hotel for a reception that took everyone by surprise. Instead of a traditional cocktail hour, Tori and Max hosted a Tiki-themed celebration filled with fun details and tropical energy.
Cocktail hour featured a lively steel drum band that set the tone for the evening. Guests enjoyed a bar filled with hand selected wines that the couple curated with the venue especially for the wedding while taking part in a giant “find-a-word” puzzle designed to keep everyone entertained.
When the ballroom doors opened, guests stepped into a transformed space that felt like a tropical island getaway. Palm-filled centerpieces, playful Tiki mugs, and vibrant décor filled the room as the band played upbeat tropical hits throughout the night.
Tori and Max intentionally kept their wedding intimate, allowing them to spend meaningful time with each guest. Throughout the evening, they moved from table to table sharing laughs, hugs, and heartfelt thanks with the people who came to celebrate with them. Their wedding perfectly balanced tradition, history, and personality making it a celebration their guests will remember for years to come.
Over the years, Event by Missy & Company has come to know and love the Thayer Hotel & West Point, having created many events and memories there.
